Raw Chocolate Banana Pie

Who doesn't love the combo of bananas and chocolate?! No oven necessary for this cool and tasty healthy dessert!

Loaded with healthy fats from avocados and walnuts, this nutrient-dense treat packs a wallop of antioxidants from cocoa and healthy fats that are heart and diet friendly. The fiber from the walnuts and avocados get you full fast, so a small serving is enough to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Serves 8-10

Cook time: 20 Minutes+ 2 hours


Walnut Pie Crust

  • 2  cups walnuts(or other nuts)
  • 1/4 cup dates, pitted
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt

Chocolate Banana Filling

  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • 3 ripe bananas (+ bananas sliced for decoration)
  • 1/4 cup raw cocoa powder
  • 4 tbs. coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch sea salt
  • 40 drops liquid stevia


Walnut Pie Crust

1. Put crust ingredients in food processor and pulse until mixture begins to clump and is chopped finely.

2. Press ingredients into 8" glass or stone pie plate. Place in freezer.

Chocolate Banana Filling

1. Add filling ingredients to food processor (except extra bananas for decoration). Combine until smooth and creamy. Start with less sweetener and then add and taste as you go to achieve desired sweetness.

2. Remove crust from freezer and pour filling into crust. Refrigerate a couple hours prior to serving to firm up. I usually freeze it until the day I want to eat it and then place in fridge to thaw.

3. Serve right away from fridge—it will get too soft if you let it sit out long. To keep bananas from turning brown during storage, wait to decorate top with banana slices until immediately prior to serving.
